Oct. 8 2014 Dupuis Stallions Excellent in 2YO Program.
Western Maverick’s colts dominated! Pembroke Wildcat won the Maine Breeders finals, 10-6-4, setting a track record at Scarborough Downs and State of Maine record 1:57.2h, track record at Skowhegan Fair in 1:57.3h . He is 1st in points and money earnings.
Pembroke Maverick equaled the track record at Windsor Fair 1:57.4h, 2nd in the Breeders finals and won the Massachusetts finals 10-3-2-2. 2nd in money earnings in the Maine Breeders stakes.
Maverick’s filly, Eat Your Enemy, 2 time stakes winner and won the Maine breeders finals from the 7 hole 10-3-3-2. 1st in money earnings.

Boy Band’s gelded son, Just Say Mo, won the 2yr old Colts and Geldings Trot, 1st lifetime win, high money earner in his division.

Noble Venture’s 2 yr old daughter, Bibbidi Boo had an undefeated season, 10 starts – 10 wins, setting records at Scarborough Downs 2:01.4h, Bangor Raceway 2:04.4h, Skowhegan Fair 2:03h and a State of Maine record 2:01.4h. 1st in points and money.

CR Power Glide’s 2 yr old daughter, set a track record at Northern Maine Fair 2:04.4h and was 2nd in the breeders Stakes program, 2nd in points and money. Pembroke Jack B, 2 yr old colt, finished 2nd in points and money, 2nd in finals, 9-5-2-0.

All the finals winners (4) were raised at Dupuis Farm!

Sept. 7 2014 - Pembroke Wildcat wins Colt Pacing Divsion
The $57,357 colt pacing division came down to a battle between two brothers as Drew and Heath Campbell piloted the Valerie Grondin-trained entry of Pembroke Wildcat and Pembroke Maverick . Owned by William Varney, Pembroke Wildcat, the son of Western Maverick - Saluki Hanover scored the sixth win of his rookie season in a track-record clocking of 1:57.2, trumping the previous benchmark of 1:58.4 established by another Main-bred, Maineiac Matt in 2007. The some of Western Maverick has earnings of ($61,394) and 6 wins.

Aug. 7 2014 - Scarborough, ME - Bibbidi Boo still unbeaten after Maine championship win
The Maine-bred filly, Bibbidi Boo (Nobele Venture - Lilting Lily), wrapped up a brilliant undefeated season while continuing to lead the national standings as the winningest 2-year-old filly trotter in the land. Owned in tandem by William Varney and Lynn-Marie Plouffe, the Valerie Grondin trainee secured her 10th consecutive victory in a track-record clocking of 2:01.4, supplanting the previous benchmark of 2:03, established by her stablemate, Pembroke Mistress, just one month earlier. Bibbidi Boo has earnings of $66,521.

Aug. 8 2014 - Scarborough, ME---Maine Sire Stakes action returned to Scarborough Downs on Friday (Aug. 8) as the 2-year-old trotting state-breds headlined the late summer performance, only to once again find the roster of the Valerie Grondin Stable stealing the spotlight. Pembroke Mistress ties the track record for 2-year-old trotting fillies with this 2:03 win. !

WESTERN MAVERICK SONS IN THE NEWS

July 20 - Saratoga Raceway - Del Rio Seelster captured Saturday night’s featured Open Pace with a purse of $12,400. Owned and trained by Al Annunziata and driven by Jim DeVaux, Del Rio Seelster posted a winning time of 1:52.3. The win was the fourth in as many weeks for the 5 year old Western Maverick gelding who started his streak racing in the 3-5 YO $25,000 claiming division and has steadily climbed through the ranks to the Open Pace level. (photo by Dave Oxford). Del Rio Seelster 4 wins and 2 seconds to date in 3013 with lifetime earnings of $131,995 and a record of 1:51.3h.

Cheeky Fool won a division of the Ontario Sire Stakes for 2 yr. old colt pacers at Hanover Raceway. It was the 3 win of the year in 4 starts for the Kristens Sparkle - Western Maverick colt.

July 19 - Bangor, Maine - In the Maine Breeders Stakes for 2yo colts, Bickmore (Noble Venture-Litany Hanover) 2yr old trotting colt won in 2:04, the fastest division that night. With 5 starts, this talented 2 yo now has 3 wins and 2 seconds. Congratulations to owner Stephen Hall of Newport, ME. and trainer Eric Bickmore.

June 29 - Scarborough Downs - In the Maine Standardbred Breeders Stakes for 3 year old pacing fillies Pembroke Violet (Baron Biltmore) won a division in 1:59.3 Pembroke Violet, last season”s freshman champion, quickly served notice that she would once again be a force to be reckoned with as she threw in an exemplary performance to overpower the field in the second stakes contest of the day timed in 1:59.3
On June 25, two year old filly stakes, Big Bad Rose won in p.2, 2:03.3 (Baron Biltmore – Guard The Rose) for owner Donald Dickison of New Brunswick, Canada.

Cheeky Fool, a son of Western Maverick, captured his division of the Ontario Sires Stakes Grassroots at Mohawk Raceway in 1:55.3 .was a wire-to-wire winner in his assignment for driver Anthony MacDonald and trainer Cliff Hill. The son of Western Maverick-Kristens Sparkle shot to the lead from Post 7 and led the field through panels of :28, :57.3 and 1:27.2 before storming home in :28.1 en route to the 1:55.3 score. Congratulations to all!

Boy Band trotters dominate at Scarborough Downs

Brickmore The 2 yo trotting colt, Bickmore (Noble Venture - Litany Hanover) from the first crop of Noble Venture is owned by Steve Hall of Newport, Me. and trained by Eric Bickmore. Eric said "He’s good gaited, travels clean, willing and lots of go, perfect size for Maine's half mile tracks."
Brickmore is a half brother to stakes winner, A Vicious Woman 3, 2:03.1h ($82,592) (Musclini - Litany Hanover).
Pembroke Dewey (Baron Biltmore - Partial Payment) sets a new lifetime record of 1:51.1 at the Meadowlands on March 16. Driven by David Miller for owner/trainer by Mark Ford and William Varney, the son of Baron Biltmore has $169,054 in lifetime earnings.

Select Breeders Visit Dupuis Farm

Select Breeders Service from Maryland just competed their two week visit at Dupuis Farm. Their annual stay involves collecting and freezing semen from a variety of equine breeds in our area.

Pembroke Dewey Wins in 1:51.4
On Feb. 9th at the Meadowlands Race 5 from post position 9, Pembroke Dewey, the 2012 Pacing Colt Champion, sired by Baron Biltmore, won in 1:51.4.

Sea Star Virgin Sea Star Virgin 5, 2:00f $147,183. is now 30 yrs. old and very healthy. She is the oldest resident at Dupuis Farm, enjoying her retirement romping thru the fields at her leisure. She’s by Camp David (Super Bowl) out of Virginia Ayres by Ayres. She is owned by Bill Varney, who purchased her in 2001. Dam of 5 foals, with 3 starters, she best was Pembroke Forward $78,753.
